The Kingdom Experiment (Updated: 13 Apr 2010)

What is the Kingdom Experiment? The Kingdom Experiment (KE) is a, Sunday morning, church-wide, 8-week endeavor (9-weeks including the intro week) that will span all age-groups of Thrive Church. Based on The Kingdom Experiment, a book published by The House Studio. It deals with the beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12), but this is not your typical approach to the topic.

Why are we doing it? We've always been a church that puts high value to "passing it on". We've especially been challenged through the recent Christian FAIL message series and the Roll Like Jesus message series, which discuss living faith in a way that reflects Jesus better. We want to continue that momentum by giving "hands and feet" to what God has been working in our hearts.

How will it work? For the adults and teens, KE will encompass the pastoral message and the A.M. Exchange discussion. But, it won't stop there. We will be challenged, every week, to "experiment" with living the "Kingdom" during the week. There will be several choices of experiments to choose from which, at times, may stretch you beyond your comfort zones.

What about the children? The children will be following along with the same subject matter that the adults will be experiencing. Our hope is that our families take this opportunity to experience the experiments as a family.

What do I need? You really need to commit to being present at as many of the sessions as possible. Other than that, you need a book. Thrive Church has already ordered enough books to provide every adult and teen (who attends AM Exchange) with a KE book of their own. Our hope is that the cost of the book will not prohibit your involvement. But, if you can, we ask that you do give a donation towards the cost of your book ($8).

How can I help? If you are able and so desire, you can sponsor other Thrivers by making a donation that covers multiple books.

What else? Invite people to our Kingdom Experiment. There are people out there who have been waiting for this kind of hands-on implementation of God's love. You can help get the word out by linking people to this page (email, facebook, twitter, etc.). Below, you will find a promotional video we've put together that we hope will get you excited about KE, and perhaps share this upcoming endeavor with your friends. Invite them to step out and live at faith's edge with you.
